The 2023 Beyond Our Badge (BOB) is Sheriff Amason's second Citizens Academy (CA) as the Sheriff of Cleveland County. The academy, run by Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office staff, gives community leaders and interested Cleveland County citizens an inside look into what we do as peace officers. Citizen Academies offer programs aimed to foster a greater understanding of the role of law enforcement in the community, differences in jurisdictions, and roles through candid discussion and education. This falls directly in line with the Core Missions Sheriff Amason has set in place. It is our mission to take every opportunity to present the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office to our citizens providing transparency to build positive relationships with those we are sworn to serve and protect. Classes begin April 6, 2023 and meet every Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for eleven weeks. The final class of the academy will be June 8, 2023 with graduation occurring the following week on June 15, 2023.
