Prison Rape Elimination Act

Cleveland County Detention Center PREA POLICY

Our Commitment to Safety and Dignity

At the Cleveland County Detention Center (CCDC), we uphold a zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual abuse and sexual harassment. Our mission is clear: to ensure the safety, security, and dignity of all inmates entrusted to our care. We are dedicated to taking affirmative measures to protect inmates from any form of sexual misconduct, supporting a culture of respect and accountability within our facility.

How to Report

Inmates and their advocates have multiple channels to report incidents of sexual abuse or harassment:

  • Anonymously: Ensuring privacy and security for those who wish to report without disclosing their identity.
  • Direct Reporting to Staff: Inmates can choose any staff member they trust to report an incident, whether verbally or in writing.
  • Third-Party Reporting: Family, friends, or legal representatives can report concerns on behalf of an inmate by contacting us directly at (405) 701-7700 to speak with a shift supervisor.

All reports are treated with utmost seriousness, documented promptly, and investigated thoroughly in compliance with 28 CFR 115.51 and 115.61 regulations. Our process is confidential and accessible, ensuring that information is shared only with individuals who have a legitimate need to know.

Transparency and Accountability

We believe in the power of transparency and accountability. To this end, we make our efforts and outcomes public:
